A Bit of History...
What came first, The Chicken or The Egg? For me the question became, what comes first The Queen or The Pageant? Now The Miss Nude Canada™ Golden Goddess Awards© are not new but haven't been performed for many years: the last Golden Goddess© was CASHA RAE ALLIAS in 1994.
We haven't presented this pageant for many reasons that seemed important at the time. Now it is 2004 and the Exotic Dance Industry has changed in a major fashion over the ensuing decade.
- In 1994
- my Miss Nude Canada™ Pageants were the major vehicle for the career advancement of contestants both newly entering the business and during their Feature years.
- Feature Entertainers were the mainstay of the Industry and we had to struggle hard to ensure that non-Features would be given the opportunity to compete in The Miss Nude Canada Pageant™
- We had to turn major Feature Entertainers away from the National Finals to ensure spots for these "other contestants".
- Back in the 1980s and 1990s the winner of the main title was usually able to start featuring and earning her maximum show price the week following the Pageant.
- The reigning Miss Nude Canada™ would work nonstop touring back and forth across Canada with her costumes, props, promotional posters, lights, pyrotechnics, etc..
- In 2004
- Feature Entertainers are a dying breed and fewer and fewer clubs provide regular Feature entertainment for their clientele.
- It is so very difficult for a talented performer to earn her primary income from Feature Dancing.
- The Miss Nude Canada Pageant™ has been experiencing participation of a much greater percentage of beautiful, talented young ladies who come from other walks of life and different aspects of the entertainment industry.
- Now there is no guarantee that the winner of the main title Miss Nude Canada™ is going to be what the industry classifys a AAA Feature Entertainer complete with all the accruements and tools that such a working performer requires and, most of all, the willingness to travel 1,000s of miles every week for her bookings.
The Miss Nude Canada Pageant™ was never a "Feature" competition, having started in 1972 in nudist colonies. Unfortunately many agents and club owners across Canada have gotten used to the National Finals of The Miss Nude Canada Pageant™ being made up of at least 20 (out of the 24 Contestants) of AAA Feature Entertainers. Costume, Props, special lights and effects, even specific talents were never judged.
What The Miss Nude Canada Pageant™ judges is the "Human Being" and it has always been our proud claim that a woman could walk into the pageant - having never been a professional exotic performer - and win.
We give equal value to 5 categories only: Facial Beauty, Personality, Proportional Body, The Ability to Entertain, and True Beauty Inner and Outer and how the woman presents it to the world. As you can see, no credit is given for the accruements of a Feature Entertainer.
Our vehicle for a "true" Feature Competition was our Golden Goddess Awards© and the judging criteria was dramatically different from our main pageant. Now in 2004/2005, we feel it is time to bring back to the market our Feature Competition and recognize the wonderful woman who works so hard, and with such sacrifice and devotion to her art, to become a Feature Entertainer in today's difficult environment.
I felt that to do this I needed a wonderful Queen who would provide an excellent example of the art form and support The Miss Nude Canada Pageant™ as we re-launch The Golden Goddess Awards© to the world. To find this Queen I felt that it was important that I still used the 'level playing field' of a major national pageant, i.e. my National Finals of The Miss Nude Canada Pageant™ 2004/2005, and apply the Golden Goddess© scoring system to choose the Queen.
